Hissing Prigs in Static Couture is the third and final studio album by the American indie rock band Brainiac, released in 1996. The album is known for its idiosyncratic style, which some describe as art punk with elements of noise rock. It incorporates more electronics than previous Brainiac releases, and hints at the synth-based electropunk style that the band would later pursue. The album also fuses the avant-garde sensibilities of late 70s and early 80s bands with the alt psych fringes of 90s alternative rock bands.
